Dr Shay is just the best !!! He has been my sons and my dentist for over 17 years and he is absolutely the best!!!!

Despite how frightened and nervous I was, under Dr. Shay care, I felt very comfortable and almost no pain! He is so gentle with his administrations, I was shocked to find that I was even able to doze off to sleep a few times in the chair! He does not rush his work and makes sure he does absolutely everything he can do to for YOUR benefit. He made sure I understood every part of my treatment and had no doubts about what needed to be done in the future. This was our first time in Dr. Shay's office & I absolutely loved it! From the moment my son & walked in, we were greeted with friendly smiles from Andrea and the rest of the staff. Patty who did my x-rays & cleaning was great & super friendly too, made me feel like I've known her for a long time. And what can I say about Dr. Shay? He was super friendly, explained everything & simple terms and just made us feel welcomed into his office. My son loved it too and had a great experience. Not something you normally get from a dentist office. Another thing I absolutely loved was that they were not overbooked, took a little longer because of the paperwork but we were called back pretty fast. And they ran into their lunch time to take care of us instead of making us wait. Thank you Dr. Shay & staff for an Amazing service.

My mother and sister recommended my family to go and see Dr. Shay. They were both impressed by the service they received. So myself, husband, and two daughters (6 and 8) decided to make a family appointment.. First I was impressed by the customer service I received when making the first phone call. When we got to the office we were all treated like family. My daughters were afraid to visit any dentist and walk out of there excited to go back! I hadn't gone to a dentist in over three years and my mouth was mess. I needed to have my wisdom teeth pulled, root canals, and cavities filled. Let me tell you that I walked out of that office each time with a smile on my face. I am so thankful to have an awesome dentist that treats me like family. My entire family are now permanent patients of Dr Shay and we wouldn't have it any other way!!!

My experience was so good and so well taken care of that I created a Yelp account just so I can let people know how awesome this place is. After going back and forth with different dental offices and each visit being worse than the last and in debt $140+ from pure consultation fees that went sideways for my wisdom teeth, I gave Dr. Shay's office a call. The staff was very professional in taking my call and took my situation very serious and got me the next available appointment while working the best they could to get me the time I could make it in. When I first met Dr. Shay I could tell he was very knowledgeable and passionate about his field and always gives you his full attention when you are explaining your situation. He actually went into detail what was going on with me (aside from other dentists that just put their hands in my mouth and said yep you gotta get those wisdom teeth removed). Dr. Shay went into detail how the procedure was going to go and I ended up getting them removed that same day. During the procedure he kept asking me to let him know if I felt pain and not to feel shy about letting him know the very instant I felt any type of pain so he can make it go away. I got all 4 wisdom teeth removed with artificial bone pellets inserted in every hole for support of the gum, very fast and did not swell up at all. I was up and running the next day. He got my cell phone number and called me during the weekend to see how I was doing and made me feel very well taken care of. All in all I had a VERY GOOD experience, highly recommend Dr. Shay.

I'll start off by saying, "I hate dentist!" However, Dr. Shay made me think twice about my dislike for dentist. He was very informative, gentle and honest. He is personable and friendly, and I would recommend him to all the naysayers out there.

Let me just begin by saying how much I HATE going to the dentist. The smell, the drilling sounds, everything down right to the music gives me chills, But Dr. Shay's office was different. The first time I went to Dr. Shay it was to remove my wisdom teeth. Not only did he do a flawless job but it was completely painless. His professional staff made me feel so comfortable I almost forgot I was at a dentist office. I've been trusting him for the last 3 years and each visit is better than the last! Honestly best dentist around!

Dr.Shay's work ethic is beyond what you expect to receive at a regular dental visit. It had been 8+ years since I had a regular dental check up. The accumulation of fear and anxiety that was built in me was beyond anything. I was crying imagining what it would be like.

It was my first time walking into a dental office in years ready to book my appointment. Dr.Hymans' staff recommended him and said he was the best. They weren't wrong. I had about 4 separate appointments with Dr.Shay .

My first consultation with x-rays etc , he assured me of the results he could achieve and said I would feel no pain. I needed a deep cleaning on all quadrants, and a lot of fillings (more than 10). I decided to go through with then procedures and get a teeth whitening as well.

My second appointment was a deep cleaning on quadrant 1 (upper right) and quadrant 4(lower right). I had a polishing done as well. All PAIN FREE!! He was detailed and would make sure I was doing well during the procedure, asked if I was okay etc. The staff during the procedure is also 110% there for you.

My third appointment he worked on quadrant 2 (upper left) and quadrant 3 (lower left) and a polish. Again making sure I was okay during his procedure both him and his staff made my experience great! I got my teeth whitened after all the procedures.

My last appointment he assured me that I have been doing an excellent job with my teeth & gums . Lastly I think Dr.Shay uses some hi tech equipment the chairs are comfortable etc.. and I guarantee you will feel no pain before or after a procedure. I also like the fact that he treated me to some Starbucks gift cards and California Pizza Kitchen gift card.

Dr Shay is not just a great doctor but a dear friend. This is the most family centered office I have ever been to, and it shows considering how close he and his staff are with each other. If you are looking for the best dentist in Montebello, he is absolutely the one.

What a great experience we had with Dr. Shay. We are students from Pasadena City College attending the Dental Assisting Program and today we were highly welcomed in this office. Our job shadow was to see what it's like "for real" in an office. Dr. Shay is absolutely amazing with his patients. He is kind, intelligent, and confident. He is not the type of dentist to put himself first, he will always put his patients first. Such an amazing place to get your cosmetic and general dentistry!

I can't speak highly enough of Dr Shay and the enitre staff. My baby daughter has always been terrified of the dentist and it's always been difficult to have her get work done. For the first time in 12 years my baby girl didn't run out of the chair or office screaming. She was laughing and felt at ease. My my son had his Initial visit with this office today for cleaning and had a chip tooth they filled with no problem, he was very happy with the cleaning. He said the staff is very nice and the Dentist was very professional and would return again.

First off, I have never been a fan of going to the dentist. When I moved to LA I knew I needed to find one ASAP. But was skeptic about where to go. When I came across Dr.Shay's office from being in pain of my wisdom teeth that had been bothering me for over 3+ years. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly welcoming smile by the receptionist Andrea, (she 's so awesome, including the whole staff). I told her there was no way I could afford any type of dental surgery and she introduced me Carecredit. That helped me out so much. Since the beginning everyone was so sweet and sincere about the help I needed. Dr. Shay is amazing at what he does! He really cares about his patients and has so much positive energy! Dr. Shay and his amazing staff ( Alex and all ), truly treat you like family. I was referred to them thru my boyfriend about 10 years ago, and I have never been happier with my smile. My experience has been pain free, recently I had a terrible cavity, I had to be numb twice! But they made sure I felt no pain. I also took my toddler and he seemed so confident, comfortable, and happy to go to the dentist. He took his x-rays on his own as well as his cleaning while I was in the other room then came right over. Granted he has gone with me before and I introduced him to the dentist prior to when I have gone but they really made him feel comfortable and he had no cavities (needles to say he loves brushing his teeth). I truly enjoy going and as a mom it feels like a spa day, relaxing with music and catching up with friends.

I went to a dentist before finding Dr. Shay that had told me I had many cavities and needed lots of work. Once I went to Dr. Shay I realized what an honest and gentle dentist he was. I had needed a new dentist and had come across this amazing place one day and decided to try it out to help fix some of my dental needs. I'm happy I did. Dr. Shay has been extremely personable, kind, caring and informative. And the staff are all so sweet. I just had a procedure done that took longer than what I expected on my first visit and they stayed until it was finished. I have never had a better experience at the dentist before. Tucked inside an unassuming strip mall in Montebello, Dr. Shay and his staff are the best dentistry I've ever visited in Los Angeles. Dr. Shay is passionate about his work and stays up to date on the most current technology and learnings in the field, for which you get grade A treatment every time. His excitement about the new tech and learnings put you at ease, as do the relaxing environments of the rooms and kindness/expertise of the staff.

Shay and his team are patient and fun to be around. If you're scared of the dentist, this is for sure where you ought to go. Shay never rushes in and out and will take the time to walk you through and teach you about everything he recommends before committing.

The prices are also beyond fair here. If you're sure driving to Beverly Hills to pay "the best" the most money, think again. We all know really that's never how you get the best service so turn around and head here.

Became a patient 4 years ago when this location was a literal walk around the corner, last year I moved a 20 minute drive away and haven't thought once about changing. Staff is sooo friendly, office is so clean and state of the art looking. & dr shay is the best if you're a mouth-pain wimp like me cuz I never feel a thing. Even brought my autistic son over last year when he aged out from his child dentist & they are all so good with & to him.
